so fun to watch my kiddo sort through such a beautiful collection of books... and to witness a bit of her inner world through which books she's interested in reading each night. there are a few she says "this one is for mama... or this one is for so-and-so, but I don't like it" and others she wants to read over and over again (we are the circle people and little brain people -- her two favorites right now). she is not a fan of the opening mediations or the reflective pages in the back these days (she used to be!), which bums me out a bit, but i use her resistance as an opportunity to show her what i like. "i'm cool with skipping those pages, but, personally, i do want to take three breaths before reading the story." "we don't have to do those exercises, if you're not into right now, but i'd love to tell you about my favorite part of the story and hear what yours was." so grateful for this collection. i feel supported as a parent. so worth it.
